At the age of 15, Maribel faced one of the toughest challenges of her life when she discovered she was pregnant. At a time when most teenagers were focused on their studies and having fun with their friends, Maribel was suddenly faced with the responsibility of raising a child.
Despite the challenges ahead, Maribel was determined to do whatever it took to provide a better life for her child and herself. She worked tirelessly to ensure she finished school with honors. She knew that success started at the foundation, leading by example and allowing for zero excuses to stop her journey.
But Maribel's ambitions did not stop there. She wanted to use her situation and confidence to give back to her community and make a difference in the lives of other young mothers like herself.
She started a program that provided resources and mentorship to teenage mothers, helping them to gain the skills and confidence they needed to support their families.
She grew as her child grew, maturing and learning every step of the way.
Maribel began to realize that her experIences as a teenage mother had given her a unique perspective on life. She had learned the importance of hard work, determination, and perseverance, and she was determined to use these qualities to make a positive impact on her community.
